Designing for Social Impact: A Journey of Empowerment

As I reflect on my experiences as a CM Fellow, I am reminded of the profound impact that design can have on social issues. My work on the sex ratio at birth indicator and the Beti Bacho Beti Padhao program has been a defining moment in my journey as a designer.

The cover art I created for the novel "पाई हुई लड़की" (The Abandoned Girl) has been a labor of love. The story of a girl abandoned at birth and her journey to success despite overwhelming odds resonated deeply with me. As someone who has worked tirelessly to promote gender equality and prevent female foeticide, I knew that this novel had the potential to inspire and educate.

"The Abandoned Girl is actually the story of a destitute child who was thrown away in the trash. This novel is a heart-wrenching and emotional story that portrays the life of a destitute child. The novel vividly describes the child's struggles, emotions, and the challenges she faces in life. This novel not only tells an emotional story but also raises awareness about the plight of abandoned children in society and their rights."

Through my work in Salarpur block, I have seen firsthand the impact that education and awareness can have on communities. I have campaigned in numerous gram panchayats, educating people about gender equality and the prevention of female foeticide. I have also worked with police personnel to show documentaries on gender equality and child sexual abuse, empowering children and self-help group women with knowledge and resources.

As I prepare to apply for Stanford's MS in Design program, I am reminded of the power of design to drive social change. My experiences as a CM Fellow have taught me that design is not just about aesthetics; it is about creating impact, promoting empathy, and empowering communities.

I believe that my journey as a designer has just begun, and I am excited to see where my passion for social impact will take me next.
